Booking Terms & Conditions

1. General Terms

These Terms and Conditions apply to all organized excursions operated by the company’s MARKIDIS TRAVEL buses within Crete. By making a booking, the customer confirms that they have read and accepted these terms.

2. Bookings

Bookings can be made through partners, through the company website, or directly with the company.

A booking is confirmed only after:

• availability confirmation
• completion of payment where required.

The company reserves the right to refuse or cancel a reservation in case of technical errors or incorrect information.

3. Payment

Payment must be completed using the available payment methods during the booking process. A reservation is valid only after payment confirmation.

4. Pick-up Time & Location

Passengers must arrive at the designated pick-up point at least 10 minutes before the scheduled departure time.

In case of delay:

• the bus is not obliged to wait 
• the booking may be considered a no-show without refund.
  
  

5. Customer Cancellations

• Up to 48 hours before the excursion: full refund
• 24–48 hours before: 50% refund
• Less than 24 hours or no-show: no refund

Cancellations must be made in writing.

6. Cancellation or Modification by the Organizer

The company reserves the right to cancel or modify excursions due to:

• adverse weather conditions
• technical issues
• insufficient number of participants
• safety reasons or force majeure.

For excursions including boat transportation, the itinerary may be modified or cancelled due to sea conditions, weather conditions, or decisions by the captain or port authorities.

In such cases customers may be offered:

• an alternative program
• rescheduling to another date
• a full refund where applicable.
  
  

7. Passenger Conduct

Passengers must behave respectfully toward other participants, staff, and equipment.

The company reserves the right to remove any passenger who:

• causes disruption
• endangers the safety of the trip
• damages property.
  
  

8. Personal Belongings

Passengers are responsible for their personal belongings. The company is not liable for loss, theft, or damage.

If a passenger leaves any item behind, they must contact the company’s central office and collect it personally after arranging with the office.
The company does not provide shipping or delivery of forgotten items.

9. Insurance & Liability

The company’s buses are covered by public liability insurance according to applicable legislation, which applies only during transportation inside the bus.

The company is not responsible for accidents or injuries that occur:

• outside the bus
• during free time
• at beaches, sightseeing locations, walking paths, or other activities outside the vehicle.

Participation in such activities is at the participant’s own risk.

10. Program Changes

The company reserves the right to modify the itinerary, stops, or schedule of the excursion if necessary for safety, operational, or weather-related reasons.

Such changes may occur due to traffic conditions, weather conditions, port authority decisions, or other circumstances beyond the company’s control.

For excursions that include boat transportation, the program may be modified depending on sea conditions or decisions made by the captain or port authorities.

11. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by Greek law.
Any dispute arising from these terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts of Rethymno, Crete.

12. Passenger Delay During the Excursion

Participants are required to follow the scheduled departure times during the excursion as instructed by the driver, guide, or organizer.

If a passenger is late or fails to appear at the designated departure point during the excursion, whether the departure is by bus or boat, the excursion will continue as scheduled without waiting.

In such cases, the company bears no responsibility for the passenger’s transportation, and the customer is responsible for arranging their return to the starting point or accommodation at their own expense.

No refund will be provided in such cases.
